In one of the countrys most technologically savvy pockets - hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of tax payer dollars were spent on a website that looks like a project angelfire or geocities would have hosted in the mid nineties. The website I am referreing to is the "The Voice of Washington Survey
" that is sponsored by the Washington State Transportation Commission. This is a real site that the commission is using to gather information but I am curious if they understand most people would be a little cautious giving it out - because unlike the old saying - most people do judge books (and websites) by the cover - and the cover of this one screams "click the #$%^ outta here!".
I don't want to sound like a total website snob, but my passive-aggressive Seattle attitude is making it impossible for me to just let this slip by so I will try to keep it short. First - lime green? Seriously? Second - 5 different fonts ... what?! Third, that cut out of a group of people with computerized childs handwriting over it - what were you thinking?? Finally - the best for last how many times is "Get Started" coded into that hovering button - you cant even read the words!
The only people who will appreciate this site are hipsters who will think this site is paying homage to the good old days. Ugh, SO Seattle...
