Journey to the International District: Uwajimaya Asian Store

"In addition to housing incredible Asian delights, snacks and tea, there is a very large food court"

The Seattle area is home to a myriad of Asian food and specialties. The city is filled with sumptuous Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese food. Not to mention other harder to find cuisines such as Cambodian food. While the food can be found all over the Emerald City, the hub and motherland of all things Asian is the International District in downtown Seattle. While visiting, make sure to visit the huge and exciting Uwajimaya grocery and gift store.

Uwajimaya is one of the largest Asian stores in the entire Northwest. The Seattle location was remodeled several years ago to become the epic store that it is. During that renovation, apartments were added just above the store. You can live, work and eat all in one area.

In addition to housing incredible Asian delights, snacks and tea, there is a very large food court offering everything from bubble tea to Chinese desserts. There is no way to not find something that you love. The main problem that you will have is trying to choose!

The grocery section of Uwajimaya offers as many types of foods as you can imagine. Take a gander at the seafood department for fresh fish and other less common types of seafood.

There are large sections for the gift store and also beauty items, clothing, kitchen and clothing. There is even a huge Hello Kitty section! It’s the perfect place to find specialty gifts to give loved ones.

If you are visiting Seattle, take the time to stop by Uwajimaya and see it for yourself!
