It’s a cliche and I keep saying it, but why is the Seattle vice squad really spending so much money to combat the “evils” of prostitution? According the former newspaper the Seattle PI, one overly-enthusiastic police officer from the Seattle police department got 130 fricking lap-dances without making a single arrest, all on the tax-payer’s dime.
The undercover officer spent over $16,000.00 on the lap-dances, etc. Considering the fact that the city of Seattle is running at a defecit of $50 million, I can safely say that I am not impressed with his “hard labor” on this case.
Some people have a morality issue with prostitution, but this is just a waste of tax-payers dollars. Seattle city employees are losing their jobs, Seattle libraries are forced to think of new ways to cut the budget, and the Seattle police department is still focusing on prostitution “stings”.
It doesn’t seem right.
Of course, with the tragic shootings of the police officers last year, no one is going to try to cut the budget of the police force, but within the police department, there needs to be more accountability. The citizens of Seattle should not be in the business of paying for lapdances.
